Listening Sessions

Holding conversations statewide to learn about hunger

The Oregon Hunger Task Force hosts listening sessions across the state to listen and learn about how people are experiencing hunger in their communities. Local organizations, community leaders and people with lived experience of hunger speak to the patterns they are observing, share new ideas about addressing food insecurity, and ask crucial questions that get to the root of the issues we all face as Oregonians.
Listening Sessions directly inform the policy solutions and best practices for addressing hunger recommended by the Task Force within a particular topic, community, or region.

Recently, Listening Sessions have taken place in:

  • Roseburg / Douglas County (2019)
  • The Dalles (2019)
  • Ontario (2018)
  • The University of Oregon, Eugene (2018)
  • Hermiston / Umatilla County (2017)
  • Lebanon / Linn County (2017)
  • East Portland and Gresham (2016)
  • Gold Beach (2015)

The Task Force will resume hosting listening sessions in 2022. If you are interested in holding a Listening Session with the Oregon Hunger Task Force in your community, reach out here.
